My wife and I have been to Alaska before and we like Princess Cruise Line, so for our 43rd Anniversary and her 71st birthday, all within the week we were at sea, we decided to go again. This time, we decided to go on the Star Princess and it was an excellent choice. My wife is handicapped and it's very hard for her to walk, and the Princess Cruise Lines associates were very accommodating. They had a special area for people who needed extra help coming on board and nary a word was said by anyone when an associate came up with a wheelchair, we were #28, and pushed my wife up the ramps to the ships. I could not have done it, but they did without complaining and without tip, they refused my tip, explaining it was "their pleasure". As my wife is a "slot addict", we received a discount on the room, which was A750, And what a room it was, right at the top of the ship, next to the pool and a VERY SHORT WALK to the buffet. Anyway, I could go on and on, but this cruise was excellent. We dined in the Crown Grill (extra charge, well worth it), ate Filet Mignon, Surf and Turf and had the Alaskan Samples desert (delicious). The excursions were not what we thought, but that was our decision, not theirs. If you go, make sure you go to the Salmon Bake, and all-you-can-eat buffet of salmon, fresh baked beans and other mouth watering items. Well worth it!! Overall, in all my years of cruising and my wife and I have been on well over 40 cruises, this was the BEST for getting on and off of a ship, believe me. If Alaska is on your bucked list, book it for September, no mosquitoes!!

Cabin Review

Cabin Twin with portholes

The cabin was excellent, at the top and back of the ship (couldn't get any higher). Walk out our cabin door, turn right, open the door and walk right into the heated pool. After relaxing and changin', do the same except of getting into the pool, walk up a set of easy steps and walk right into the buffet and if mixed drinks are your bag, go straight and dead end into a small bar. 5 star on the cabin!!
