This is our third Alaskan cruise and probably the best overall! We live in Vancouver and it is so nice to be able to do a round trip cruise and not have to fly. We arrived at the port around 1:00 pm and the embarkation went smoothly. We picked up our Medallions and went through security very quickly. There was a bit of a delay going through US customs but with that many people it is to be expected.
We boarded and went to our stateroom and our luggage was already there! We had booked an inside guarantee and we were upgraded three days before departure to a deluxe balcony with an obstructed view! We were thrilled! Our stateroom was very nice and the view was not obstructed above the railing. We had a sofa which was great. The only disappointment about the departure was the time we left Vancouver which was 1:00 am. We love the sail away out of Vancouver under the Lions Gate Bridge and the view of the beautiful city from the water but missed it this time due to the tides being low.
We had anytime dining and after the first couple of nights waiting for a table we decided to make reservations in the morning for dinner that evening. The food was very good! We were pleasantly surprised to have Alaskan King Crab and Halibut on the menu two evening's on our 14 day cruise. It was wonderful having food from the place you visit. The crab was delicious! We had dinner one night at Alfredo's and the pizza was great! We also ordered a Crown Grill steak from the dining room to accompany our meal one night. We ate lunch at the Horizon Court and every sunny day took our lunch out to the aft.
We were upgraded from an inside guarantee cabin to a deluxe balcony with an obstructed view. We were thrilled and the cabin was great! We had a slightly obstructed view from our balcony and a sofa. The bed was extremely comfortable and the cabin was clean and roomy. It was so nice to have the balcony door open at night and have fresh air and hear the waves.
We walked through the town and went up to see the salmon spawning.
Wonderful experience! Fabulous boat and crew. We saw orcas, humpback whales and a sea lion.
We walked to the graveyard and saw infamous Soapy Smith's head stone among others. Also walked through the town and made several stops along the way. We have been here before so we didn't do an excursion.
So beautiful!!!! We had fantastic weather both times. Warm and sunny...absolutely stunning!
