This was our fourth cruise with Celebrity, but the first one on a new ship. We read and saw many things about the ship both pro and con. Having been on many, many other cruise ships, the Edge was amazing. The cabin, dining, entertainment, and service was outstanding. We chose an Infinite Veranda. This is much different from your standard veranda stateroom. We found it to be 99% positive, 1% negative. The negative was that fact that in order to see outside, you needed to raise the shade and in doing so, would awaken your partner. This was not a big problem for us since we were always up early and out for excursions. This could be a problem if you just want to sleep in and your partner doesn't. Our cabin steward was awesome. Whatever we needed he made it happen. Never needed to ask twice, and had it in a very timely manner. Room was always spotless and was always ready for us.
Dining in their main dinning rooms was wonderful. They have created four separate dinning rooms with their unique food themes. Now when you go to the dinning room you are not in this gigantic room with all sorts or noise. Rather you feel that you are in a hight end restaurant with more intimate seating. Great job with the restaurants. Specialty restaurants that we ate in were La Petite Chef, and Fine Cut Steakhouse. Both outstanding and worth the extra cost. La Petite Chef was so much fun and interactive. Must experience it at least once. Fine Cut, was just that. Food was off the chart. Service in all restaurants, was impeccable. You would not get any better service if you were at a five start Michelin restaurant. We did eat some of our meals, (mostly breakfast) in the buffet. They had almost everything that we would want to eat. Food was fresh, tasty, and very appealing. We also did have few late dinners in the buffet as well. Always very good. Plenty of help to assist and answer questions. The only negative was that I do not like to eat desserts with refined sugar. They did not have a selection of such desserts. They need to improve that issue, especially for people who are diabetic.
The entertainment on board was terrific. High energy and great talent. We had seen Ashlie Amber on a previous Celebrity ship and really enjoyed seeing her again on the Edge. She still has that amazing energy and great voice. The other shows that we saw were excellent as well.
Beautiful cabin. Colors, layout, great shower. One negative, when raising the shade, it will wake your partner if they want to sleep in.
Very unique the way the houses are built on the side of the hills. Colorful and quaint fishing villages.
