Booked this 5 night cruise because we wanted a shorter vacation than typical 7 day but longer than the 3-4 day ones also offered. This was a first time cruise for my travel partner as well. I’ll go day by day to give you an idea of what to expect. I will review the ship and her services and not the ports since you can read about them separately (two of our port days were cancelled due to hurricane Dorian’s destruction (Grand Bahama) and a new tropical system that formed over Great Stirrup Cay (Norwegian’s private island).

First, arrival at Miami airport went as planned. Finding Norwegian transport desk was very easy on baggage claim level. Staff there were friendly, professional and prompt in getting us to the ship. Once we arrived at cruise terminal, going through various stages of embarkation went so quickly we were on the ship within 30 minutes (fastest embarkation I’ve ever experience!). We were given ship information and locations open for lunch.

We decided on main dining room (Crossings). Again, staff were friendly, welcoming and helped ease us into vacation mode. Food was good....wine was too lol! Note, even with drink package , whenever you are in US ports and waters, the ship will charge tax and add it to your shipboard account. After lunch we heard the all clear to be able to get into our staterooms.

Cabin BB

Please see main review above for more on ship refurbish and cabin. Cabin is same size as window/pothole staterooms...including bathroom. Bed is comfortable and bathroom is adequate. Balcony is a nice size with two comfortable chairs and a small table. There is plenty of storage in cabin. Please note, hair dryer is in a drawer in the closet. Decent programming on tv. It would be helpful if ship had a channel which showed position, speed of the ship, weather forecast and distance from Miami. Love seat is quite uncomfortable....
