We embarked on Liberty of the Seas with our extended family for a Western Caribbean Cruise. We (husband, kids, and myself) boarded without any difficulty, but some of our family were no where to be found. We found that my sister-in-law was not allowed to board. Even though, she had called RCCL in advance and was told that her birth certificate would be fine with a driver's license, it was not. She had to fly back home. After seeing her birth certificate, I can understand why they didn't allow her to board. I was still very difficult, though. Only $133 or something was refunded (?taxes?).

Moving on, we did have a good time (we did miss her). The ship was very nice. We have been on this one previously. We love the Flo Rider, ice skating, H2O zone, putt-putt, rock climbing, etc. There is always an activity going on. The Adventure Ocean staff were really good with the kids. There was a very talented singer for one of the shows. The fairy tale show was cute. I enjoyed all of the other shows, but my husband didn't like some of the music choices. I guess it is a matter of taste. The shows were the same as last time. However, due to our late dining time last time, we usually had missed part of it. I still really liked the ice show. Make sure to get tickets for this one. Oh, we didn't get chocolates on our pillows anymore. Really, how costly was that? Still had towel animals at least 6 nights.

The food in Sorrento's and the coffee shop were excellent. We barely ate in the Windjammer. However, my husband enjoyed the sushi at night. The lunch, especially the "tutti" salad, in the dining room was excellent. We had some good food for dinner in the dining room, but it did not seem as good as the last time we cruised on the Liberty. Some of the item missing were the additional nightly steak choices and other nightly available items. Our waiter was average if we were on a Carnival ship, but the rest of our party had an "Jedi" waiter.
