We are Platinum Latitudes - so we get some really nice perks -and we appreciate the extras that keep us coming back to NCL. Having been on just about every class ship we were excited to hear that the Star had been overhauled last year -and while it was nice, there were a few things I found strange. They enclosed the back end from the Garden Cafe - now H2O. It got a bit stuffy even when sailing but at least it was a quiet spot. The change in the Atrium to include Starbucks seems strange for a place that you go to listen to music before dinner (and other times) - now that it is a Starbucks -if you want a drink while listening to the music you either had to get your own from another bar or wait a while for the "barista" to go bring you one.
That being said, I loved the ports, we spent 2 days in Venice before the cruise, and went off ship every port. Did 3 ship excursions and explored on our own for the others. Santorini was crowded as we were told to expect, but lovely just the same. Great views and some wonderful food.
Speaking of food (and drink) The restaurant servers & bar people work very hard and we had no complaints about that. Food was good, good selection in all venues.
There were some room issues with our cabin -5066 - apparently right under "the art gallery" (as we were told and as best as we could figure out) and every single night until 11 or midnight we could hear "rolling carts" above our heads for 45 minutes or more. The last night it was well past 1 AM when I called guest desk to ask them to stop -( I had been to the desk 2 other times during the week asking if they could curtail the moving earlier - apparently not -and as the ship was full no place to put us)
