When I started traveling on cruise ship years ago, a travel agent told me : the most important factor for a cruise is the SHIP, destination and ports are are not important. In this case the Dawn should not be on top of your list.
Lets start with the negative:
Embarkation is long process, cannot blame NCL its a private company who does all the work
the layout is narrow, no chair to sit little space between wall and the bed. The bathroom is narrow and badly designed
Saying the name Quebec says everything. Chateau Frontenac ...lower and upper town. I think its the closest you can get to Europ without crossing the Ocean. All the site are walking distance from the ship.
(long) tender trip - 30 - 40 minutes. nice village many shops to see, few mansions to visit prices vary from 18$ to 35$ . Better do your homework before visiting any mansion. they are reasonable walking distance from the port
always nice to visit Boston : quincy market- Harvard - Cheers - the town is an attraction in itself. Possible to walk from the ship to downtown, about 45 minutes "lovers speed"
not much to see here downtown has their load of homeless people.
Nice to visit local brewery, the citadelle its a nice town to discover
we made a mistake booking the Acadia National Park tour. Short description it ia a 2.5 hours bus tour with 3 fifteen minutes stop (remove 5 minutes each stop for people disembarking .... to see what .... a gift shop .... some flowers and reef .
the best welcome of all ports. we could see the town has invest time an energy to welcome the passengers. Many people dressed as in old days .
we rented a car and went to (35 - 40 minutes drive) the Louisbourg forteresse . if you like history, many of the employees are dressed as in those times
