Disappointed in the actual Olympic site but thought the town was lovely & we wish we had spent more time there

Katakolon (Olympia)

Took a ferry to Island of Aegina off Athens. Wanted to see outside of Athens & glad we did. Busy little town small narrow lanes full of shops & restaurants.

Athens (Piraeus)

This was one of the worst of the excursions. It was a very hot day &amp; the tour was way too long they should have cut it short due to the heat. Parts interesting enough but seriously not worth it

Left tour in town as wanted to see more of Mykonos glad we did.Quaint alleyways beautiful white painted buildings with splashes of brilliant colours. Shops &amp; eateries abound. Again we wish we had more time here.
Picked tour back up & drove to a nice place where lunch was supplied

We have seen a number of ancient ruins & these had to be the some of the best apart from Egypt.
Ephesus was amazing. The marble walkways alone, then to come on to the Library wow! then to know Cleopatra formed a romantic & political alliance with Mark Anthony there. A lot of slippery walking so beware. Then into Kusadasi for free time. Loved this town but beware the fakes (jewellery perfumes shoes etc etc) but some lovely shopping can be had for genuine items & there are shops galore

Ok but due to it being a religious day it was packed. Glad our tour got us in early as the lines became very long & in the heat very tiring no doubt. Nothing much else there as few souvo shops

This is a trolley tour which took us around the old town &amp; the Masters Palace refurbished by Mussolini. A few steep steps to climb in palace but worth it. Left tour in town. Great place again many shops &amp; restaurants 

Off my bucket list. Absolutely as you would see in photos & post cards. Beautiful!!! words do not do it justice. Alleyways, shops, restaurants. But very very busy & we were the only ship in.

Loved Sorrento. So wish again we had more time here.Some of the views on the tour were amazing. Stopped at a timber inlay shop not at all interesting to us anyway. Lunch was supplied in a lovely restaurant off one of the many market streets in Sorrento
Then onto Pompeii. Again not as we suspected. The mummified bodies at the start were amazing but also sad to see. The artifacts that have been unearthed also amazing but the old city not so. While parts would have been enough again it was way too hot & too long. Pick your seasons to visit.


If you have been to Gibraltar previously we would not bother again. Unfortunately had no choice as same port previous cruise last year

Gibraltar

Very impressive gardens & palace. A lot of walking but cooler as more shade. Buffet lunch supplied.

Shuttle bus into city. Very impressive city. Went to the food markets they are amazing. Had plenty of free time

Barcelona

Lido is still the usual scrum and finding a table at peak times is like winning the lottery as it is on most cruise lines which is why we opt for the dining room for breakfast & dinner.Wine list on this cruise was not to a standard with a very nice wine only available in the dining room.
