We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. Going to 7 (8 including Venice) locations in 10 days throughout the Mediterranean was wonderful. My only criticism was that we had to tender in three ports. This meant obtaining tender place slips the morning of the tender which could be 6am.
Our mini-suite balcony state room was very nice. There was more than enough room to hang and store clothing and other things. Since the Norwegian Pearl is an older ship, the balcony size was so nice as compared with some of the newer Norwegian ships where balconies are minuscule. The bathrooms were adequate but, if you have difficulties getting in a tub for your shower this one was very tall.
I really liked the pool area. There were four hot tubs and two pools.... no slides or fancy things. There was plenty of room to sit out at the pool both in the sun and under the covered deck. There was a climbing wall on the top deck, shuffleboard and large chess pieces on the outside deck and ping pong inside. Although we did not bring children, there appeared to be a nice “splash academy” area for kids.
The cabin was larger than some of the newer ships. There was plenty of hanging and drawer space plus cabinets for other items. I loved the balcony. Since we always book a port side room with a balcony, I’m familiar with Norwegian ships’ balcony. This one was very big- not like the minuscule ones on the newer ships. The bathroom was nice in that the toilet, sink and tub were in the same room and there was a separate door for the toilet. One caution is the tub/shower. The tub is very tall so, if you could have difficulties stepping up into the tub for a shower.
