We have previously cruised before but wanted to try something a little more upmarket. We were very impressed by the standards of this cruise we cannot wait to go back. Everything was just right.

We got on at Southampton having staying at the Chilworth Manor hotel on their park and cruise package (included is bed and breakfast, over night stay, 3 course meal in their restaurant, parking and taxis to/from the terminal). All was very efficient. When the taxi arrived at the terminal our bags were taken from us for safe passage onto the train. Getting onto the ship was no hassle. We got on around midday. Our rooms were not ready until around 1pm but they had the oceans café open for lunch. It was busy but the food was delightful.

Getting to our cabin we were happy with our home for the week.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2C

Cabin 2C

A comfortable reasonable sized bed. Good quality toiletries. Great shower with closable door (I hate shower curtains so was pleased to see there was not one!). Towels could have been a bit bigger but did their job! We asked the cabin steward for larger robes as well which were delivered to us. Tea and coffee making facilities. Safe. Hairdryer (not the greatest).

TV with various channels on including the traditional cruise channels like view from the bridge and the directors channel. We had a little seating area with a sofa and table and also a mirror with another chair. We were on deck 6 in room 6187 - this is the first level with the balcony rooms and where the life boats are. We did not have an obstructed view of the horizon - it meant that we could not look down to the sea due to the life boat being there. It wasn't really an issues at all although I did think it was going to be before we got on the ship.

There is plenty storage - the cupboards above the bed are almost hidden and I wouldn't have known about them if someone had not said! This gives plenty of room and your suitcase should be able to fit under the bed out of sight and mind. There are 3 big drawers and a wardrobe and the bathroom has a cabinet too.

Our cabin steward was great - the room was always spotless. Turn down every night and towels replaced in the morning and/or evening.
