I love to get away in the winter. Had never sailed from New Orleans and this was my chance. I did a back to back and spent 21 days on the ship. I was a solo traveler but stayed in an inside room on the first leg and 9702 (outside with large picture window) on the second leg, rather than studio because I had a casino offer. I loved the solo program and the shows. The food was good and the people I met among the solo travelers and in other parts of the ship were fun. The shows were great and the crew generally was great, too. I particularly liked the Waterfront for relaxing and had decent luck in the casino at the end of my trip. I look forward to sailing the Breakaway again, but will stay away from room 9702. My inside cabin on the first leg was perfect for me ... quiet and convenient to things. I would have preferred that all the evening games would have been in a larger venue than the Atrium. It was hard to see what was going on unless you got there very early for a seat.
This is a great cabin when you walk in, but it is right above the outside crew area and the door leading to it. There was constant slamming of that door, including in the night. You couldn’t hear any noise from the deck, but the door was really disturbing to me. I loved the large window, and would have loved this room on a higher deck.
