Trip Details
  • Sail Date: Aug 2019
  • Destination: the Western Mediterranean
  • Cabin Type: Sunset Veranda Stateroom

The Celebrity Edge is an outstanding ship. We loved the Celebrity Reflection but this was something different. Time and effort had been taken to create a different type of cruise ship, It was tasteful, slick and big enough to get round without being too big.

We had a cabin with a sunset balcony and it did not disappoint, however we did discuss this and thought if we were looking to save money a lower cost cabin would have been fine as we did not spend much time in the room at all.

Everything being new did add to the magic as you would expect.

The ship was spotlessly clean. The staff helpful, friendly and polite.

Interesting how the 2 main restaurants had been split into 4 with different themes. There was never a problem getting table. I liked the themed idea, however I am thinking is this a way to steer you into the speciality dining concept.

The children's clubs had been banished to the basements floors 2/3 which I have never seen before. This is more suited to adults however children were on board and were no trouble at all. But if a child were to pick they would pick one of the all singing and dancing ships that are built with children in mind.

The ship was built with relaxation in mind it was amazing. I love cruising and look forward to booking the next adventure.

I loved the ship and woudl love to return

Cabin Review

Sunset Veranda Stateroom

My husband thought the cabin was smaller than other ships.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

We love Valencia. It was a bit of a hassle getting the bus from the port and expensive. Disappointing we did not go to the old town and the beach as it was too hot and the bus transport did not offer this.

We got a taxi to the top of the castle at the old town and walked down - loved Ibiza.

Been to this area many times. Decided not to go to Monte Carlo or Nice. We enjoyed the small town and got back on the ship to enjoy the view from a sun bed - priceless.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

Now the was a surprise. We have already den Pisa and Florence, so decided to head into the town and have a look round. We loved it - don't be fooled to go further a field this is a nice town in its own right. Boat trips are available we shall do this next time.

We booked electric scooters on trip adviser and got a taxi into town to join the tour. This was such good fun.

We stayed in the Crown Plaza for 3 nights before boarding
