Sail Date: Nov 2018

We have sailed on Viking before, both river cruise and ocean cruise. We especially like the smaller ships of Viking with under 1000 guests. The ships themselves are beautifully designed and sleek looking with the Danish design. Cabins are normal size, nice furniture on balcony. Food is wonderful and you pay nothing extra for specialty restaurants and the food in all venues is above average. There is musical entertainment every evening in the atrium and in other venues of the ship. Thankfully, no one taking your picture all the time, or art auctions. Also, no one under 18, wheelchairs or scooters. Service is excellent; cabin stewards are attentive. There are a lot of informative programs but with the smaller ships, there are no lavish stage productions. On the newer Orion and Jupiter, there are planetariums with free programs. A free excursion is provided in each port and we have two more trips already scheduled on Viking. Embarkation and disembarkation are smooth, given the smaller passenger numbers.

Cabin Review

Average size room and balcony. Furniture of the Danish design. Wonderful bathroom; walk in shower, heated floor, and plenty of storage space. Comfy king size bed and upscale linens.
