We chose the cruise based on the Itinerary, three days in St. Petersburg plus several other Baltic countries. Viking is an amazing cruise line; best of three lines we have sailed with: Seabourn, Regent, and Azamara. Excursions were well planned, outstanding really, except for Bornholm, which was a waste of time. We would also change the history lecturer (Hanseatic expert but not good at lecturing) and the Palates instructor. Details on request. We loved the cruise line so much that we signed up for another Viking cruise in February.
We experienced the best possible journey on Viking. Luxurious, Safe, and Educational. Excellent choice of places to dine, wonderful complimentary excursions, mostly, outstanding cabin service, little details from art to music to onboard lectures - except one - made us feel like we were a part of the Viking family learning what we could about an amazing region of the world. Viking sending out reading lists and recipes ahead of time is over the top awesome. The entertainment on ship was such fun. The quartet did a fabulous job with two shows a night. I loved the spa warm water pool and grotto. Viking should not change a thing on board.
Clean and uncluttered, very private, loved the veranda, sound proofed, very quiet, had all we needed and more. Took a bit of time to figure out that the key card controls the AC. Two warm nights. Now we know.
Were we there? I think our guide took us to Sandvig in Bornholm. Tourist excursion.
