We celebrated a recent retirement with a "sampler cruise" of ports on the Western Mediterranean. Spent two amazing days in Rome before boarding, staying at the beautiful Marriott Flora hotel. We then were escorted to the ship on a comfortable coach, and welcomed graciously by the ship staff. Once we embarked, we enjoyed stops and excursions in Italy, Monaco, France and Spain. All accommodations on this Viking Ocean Cruise were first class, all our guides knowledgeable and inspiring, all the excursions were a window into the people and culture of the regions. The Viking staff go above and beyond in ensuring a memorable trip, and the food, entertainment and activities on the ship delightful. Also plenty of helpful information via the Room TV and daily updates delivered to our room. We were so pleased with our trip that we have booked another cruise (Viking River) next Fall. A class act from start to quit!
