I wanted to take this cruise from the first time it appeared in the catalogue. It did not disappoint! Norway was stark and beautiful, 24 hours daylight was disconcerting, and the ship was new and beautiful. The staff went above and beyond to make the cruise special. It's great to meet folk from all over the world (staff and fellow travelers). The entertainment was excellent. Our resident historian, Caroline Malloy, was knowledgeable and approachable. Most of the guest lecturers were also excellent. The restaurants were varied and the food was exceptional, even for Viking! We especially liked Manfredies and Mamson's. Every excursion was a learning opportunity. The weather was perfect, in that it never actually rained on us.
If I had it to do over, I would recommend doing it in the opposite direction. Visit London and Edinburgh first while the energy levels are high. We were just too tired by the end to enjoy either city.
Our cruise director was Aaron Syfert. Viking has a gem in this young man. He was everywhere watching over us! And an excellent singer and entertainer. Don't loose him!!!
Very nice. This cabin was recommended by my booking agent Bill Eroh. Our balcony looked out the rear of the ship - full panoramic view of where we had been. Very quiet with wonderful room attendants.
