We chose this crew because of the itinerary and we wanted to try Holland America.. Embarkation (Amsterdam) was the best of any cruise we have been on (4 previous cruises). Disembarkation (also Amsterdam) was also the better than any of our previous cruises. Ship is big, new, and beautiful... Great layout and we never felt too crowded. Cabin was spacious with good amount of storage for suitcases and ample closet space. I would say dining was above average but we did not dine at any of the specialty restaurants. We "tried" to attend a few of the shows but never stayed for the duration they were just too boring. Service was outstanding throughout the ship for the duration. Ports were all good but we did not book any excursions through HAL as they were too expensive. We booked through a third party for much less and they were basically the same tours. Shops were somewhat limited but all the staff were friendly. Casino was sufficient (also a great staff) but I would have liked for them to have a Texas hold'em table. Overall a good cruise and we would probably give HAL another try possibly Antarctica.
Cabin was spacious and clean. Our room steward kept our cabin spotless and was very friendly. Only knock on the cabin was the obstructed view. We knew we booked a partially obstructed room, as we have in the past, but this room's view was a bit too restricted. In room movies were great and very new. Cabin was relatively quiet throughout the trip. Overall the cabin was great for us!!!
City was walking distance from the port.
Great excursion with a great tour guide. A must see if you visit Alesund.
Nice city..... We took the train to the city center and walked around to various venues. Worth seeing for sure.
Stop was cancelled due to high seas.
Great excursion with lots to see. A must if you are in Iceland.
Probably could have just done a walking tour on our own. Beautiful little city.
