This was our first time cruising with Celebrity having cruised many times previously with Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and once on MSC. We mainly chose this cruise for the ports visited as all the places sounded very interesting.
The ship is definitely showing its age and is in need of some renovations but most common areas were clean and comfortable so that was fine. We liked how even though the ship was completely full, it never felt crowded as we never had trouble finding a table at the buffet, finding seats in the theatre or finding lounge chairs to bask in the sunshine which made our experience that much more relaxing.
The only main negative came in the main dining room. We had open seating but the first two nights they gave us the same table and waiters. We are not ones to complain about restaurant service but he was one of the worst waiters we've had. Both nights he barely greeted or smiled at us and took forever just to give us the menus and water. Nor did he ever ask us if we wanted coffee or tea afterwards unlike all the other cruise waiters we have had previously. We were so unimpressed that we ended up eating at the buffet for dinner for the remaining nights. We actually enjoyed the food at the buffet and how they had themed food nights (eg. Greek night) so we didn't mind. The buffet staff were quite pleasant as well.
Taormina was beautiful especially the view from the top of the Greek Theatre!
Nice and easy place
Took tender boats in, nice port but not a whole lot to see
Venice is beautiful but overcrowded
