I choose Carnival because I wanted to experience a different cruise line. Oh my goodness, have you ever been on a cruise where there was hardly any food? Unbelievable! You have to pay for everything! French fries ($2), no free chicken wings ($5), restaurants were packed (the 3 free restuarants) and they were opened with limited time so with the long lines, good luck if you make it to the front before some crew member cuts you off and tells you that they are closed.
Stood on a line for an hour to get a pre-made sandwich. Was so upset, decided to order in to room one night for dinner. Keep in mind that I am paying for my dinner. It took 2 and a half hours for the food to be delivered to the room.
Speaking with the service desk was difficult. They answered the phone as if we're a bother. Nothing about this cruise was good, I am not one to bash anyone with bad reviews but please save your money and use another cruise line. For first time cruisers, you would be utterly disappointed if you go on this ship. I love cruises and I am glad I cruised on a different line before I went on carnival sunrise because if it was the other way around, I would never cruise again. I have a 2 yr old and I tried to take him into the pool. I was told that he could not go into the pool with swimming diapers and that he needed to be potty trained. No problem. So I tried to take him to the kiddie section for him to run around (no swimming), same thing. Horrible. Kiddie camp had 1 crew member with over 15 kids under 3 in one room with no toys, just sitting on the floor. Really?
