Affordability to what we wanted to see & do, recommendation of our friend and travel agent, is why we chose Princess. The personnel on board the ship were for the most part exceptional with "customer service". The food, (we were looking forward to fresh, quality seafood as well as -chef dishes-) was very good. We did have a few complications as far as planning excursions, after we got on the boat. I highly recommend having those booked prior to your trip. Loved our mini-suite on board the Ship. The beds could be improved upon, however. My husband had to call for assistance when the mattress just "caved in". He turned it over and discovered the mattress had been "duck-taped" to the base and had come loose. Someone from the Ship, came immediately to help. Very uncomfortable during the 7-day voyage. Would Recommend a balcony, (especially since my husband was on his 1st time cruise) we used it every day! The food was delicious, and having fresh salmon, shrimp and all the other fish we ate, was wonderful and a major part of the experience. The productions on board were 1st Class. The musicians, music, dancers, singers!, were splendid and most enjoyable! We only wish there were more Encore presentations, since due to accommodations, we were unable to to attend except for standing room only. They were really good! Again, cannot say enough about the personnel on board; from many different countries, with a common thread of kindness, being courteous, and a willingness to help and make you comfortable. The glaciers and the country of Alaska, are reason enough to take the trip, but you have to have a great Captain of your ship that will make sure that every side of the vessel gets to have that visualization. We had the right Captain! Our excursions were great! Every one them was worth the expense. Would of liked more time in Skagway, my only complaint as far as "time in port". We departed from Vancouver, & got there early to enjoy the City and to visit Victoria. Both were great places to visit, although the cost for food was an eye opener, although really good. Embarkation onto the boat seemed a bit lengthy. We had to wait in a crowded room for over an hour, but did enjoy the hassle-free part of having our luggage brought to our state rooms. Disembarkation was much better, as far as a waiting period goes. We got off the boat & right to a Coach that took us to the Rail (train) to Denali, where we had an extended visit prior to heading into Fairbanks. Princess does an exceptional job or having the visits to their Lodges very organized and your luggage personally not having to be wagged. Most appreciative of that!

Cabin Review

Cabin D327
Great service from our daily cabin steward, Lizell, as well as from room service with morning coffee & requirements. The bed accommodations is really something that needs to be addressed (please see my above review for more detail). Enjoyed the space for our clothing and other items. Would go again if the bedding situation would be taken care of.
