Norwegian Getaway Cruise Review by Pamykris
- Sail Date: August 2019
- Destination: Baltic Sea
- Cabin Type: Balcony Stateroom
The ship is beautiful, we could definitely tell it was recently renovated no complains on cleaniless and the public areas are spacious. We stayed in a family room for 4 for the first time and at first we where confused as the sofa bed was clearly only meant for 1 person. Only by asking around did we realize there was a ceiling bed that could be opened. We were very happy to hear this but I think they should include some sign or paper with this information in the room already because we grew upset at the beginning. The room is tight but there was enough storage for our family of four.
We mostly at at the buffet and food was varied and good to great flavors, we could always find a table in the first few minutes we came. Other than that we dined twice at savor/taste and food is very good but it is missing a bit of presentation and flavor to be great. We also had lunch once in o sheenans but were disappointed with the mini portions and the service. We actually left before he could bring us all our orders or ask for dessert with how slow service is despite not being booked. The only specialty restaurant was Moderno and definitely recommend the quality of the meat os fantastic.
The entertainment crew always had something to do its a shame the don't always have enough space or material for everyone interested to participate. The atrium simply does not have enough seating and the need to bring more paper for everyone to play. We had a great time in family dictionary for example but the only had paper for 7 teams it doesn’t make sense. This ship also has so many activities such as the arcade, bowling, mini golf the rope course and we enjoyed a bit of all it had to offer.
Service overall is very good besides O Shennans we had no complaints. It may not be as personal than other cruises but everyone is kind and gets the job done.
Though the cruise supposedly had 4600 guest (that not the capacity they advertise) we never felt it was so full we couldn't enjoy you just have to organize yourself to be at the activities before the begin and the shore excursions where fun.
Btw the Cirque show is amazing you shouldnt miss it!

CopenhagenWe spent one day before and after the cruise here. We used the hop on hop oof from red buses but I would recommend you use the other city sightseeing company (their buses were also red).View All 1,094 Copenhagen Cruise Port Reviews

Old Town PorvooThe highlight of the tour is the visit to the local farm that raises horses. The scenary and family there are amazing and very kind. Other than that we went to Porvoo but it rained and we really couldn't enjoy it. Finally we stopped at the main square for a picture stop which was nice. In the end we had a good time but the time at the port is to short.View All 47 Old Town Porvoo Reviews
Schwerin CastleWe took a rostock and shewrin castle tour with tjtravel because we didn't want to spend 6 hours on a train. The company is very professional and we had a good time the towns are interesting and the castle is gorgeous. Lunch is inckueded which was a plus.View All 22 Schwerin Castle Reviews
City TourOne the second day we went with Tj travel to explore the city. We decided to do this because the shore excursions offered by the cruise only visited one or two of the landmarks we wanted to see. Unfortunately disembarkation was a disaster due to so many cruises were at the port at the same time. Despite that the agency waited for us patiently and we still managed to see everything in the itinerary. We went to the iconic subway, hermitage museum, church of the spilled blood, peterhof and the hydrofoil back to the city. All spots were are gorgeous and the tour guide Daria is not only very knowledgeable she is very entertaining.View All 341 City Tour Reviews
Russian Folk DanceOn the first night we really wanted to see the russian folkore show to see an authentic presentation of the russian culture and it didn't disappoint. We went with the cruise excursion because independent agencies didnt recommend this option due to time constraints. The dancers are amazing and the singers are so talented.View All 41 Russian Folk Dance Reviews

TallinnThe tour of the old town is interesting you only have a bit of free time and we opted to stay in a cafe with wifi so we really didn't have time to shop. The highlight is the medieval theme park in the rakvere castle. Something fun and interactive great for kids but adults can also enjoy. The torture chamber is a little childish and funny but I really loved how different the experience is. Food was good and satisfying we also participated in the vodka tasting.View All 12,802 Tallinn Cruise Port Reviews
