We chose this cruise based on the itinerary. We have cruised with Regent, Silver Sea, and Oceana previously so we were a bit skeptical of Viking. The cruise exceeded our expectations. There are some extra touches that Regent and Silver Sea does better such as passing appetizers in the bars at night and fruit platters in the room. But I would still rate Viking as a luxury cruise. The staff on Viking is well trained and friendly at all times. The food was excellent in all of the venues. The included tours are not what I would have liked them to be, but it was clear from the descriptions what they included. We purchased several optional tours that were very good. We also purchased outside tours through Viator which I highly recommend.

The embarkation and disembarkation was the easiest that we have ever had. We were allowed on the ship and in our room at 11:00 am.

Our cabin was a Jr.Penthouse Suite which was well appointed with lots of storage space. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks. Our cabin steward Clark was the best that we have ever had.

Cabin Review

Cabin Jr. Penthouse Suite

The cabin compares favorably to the older Regent ships if not better. There was a sofa, two, chairs and two TVs. The bathroom was bigger than any that we have had with the exception of The Regent Explorer.
