This was the itinerary that we wanted so we took a balcony cabin as we usually do. The cabin was like every other cruise cabin that we've ever been on...not good, not bad. The cleanup service was good and it was, thankfully, quiet. The food, like every other cruise line, was staggeringly mediocre. Restaurant service was OK except for the steward. If he was overworked, then something should have been done. It's easy enough to place partially finished bottles on tables, but then you need to be around to pour wine. I noticed that others at our table with drink packages got regular service. I'd like to ask Celebrity what the difference was, My main problem with Celebrity is the same one as with other cruise lines. That is the Hand Out Syndrome. After we reserved a cabin, I got about 25 email a wqeek trying to make me believe that something else needed to be done. In fact, they were just advertisements. Once on board, the sales pitches for jeweler, watches and other odds and ends was never ending. Buy this, buy that. Take part in specialty drinks bars where, btw, the drinks package did not always hold sway. Bottom line, Celebrity, I'm tired of you making things easy on yourself, trying to sell us stuff, providing mediocre food, and constantly begging us for good service reviews. One evening, I was not terribly hungry so I didn't eat much. The maitre d' was at my side saying he would get me something else from the kitchen. I had to fight the guy off to get him to leave me alone. Celebrity should take a hint from Holland America. All queries and requests are immediate answered with "Yes sir". I might mention one more thing that annoyed me. In the buffet on the top deck, why are there waiters wandering around selling bottled water and specialty coffees, while people bussed their own tables. This was compounded by the fact that there is not enough room at peak times for people to come in and eat. It is not the place of the cruise line (vendor) to tell the passengers (customers) to finish and get moving so that someone else can use the table. Overall, the cruise was OK..just OK. Some attention to detail and less attention to pestering passengers to pull out their wallets. Since you ask below about fitness and recreation, my wife likes to work out. She signed up for classes that were canceled as "there have to be 3 for a class". What kind of nonsense is this? You offer a class, you hold it any ANYONE shows up. That nonsense simply comes under the heading of "bad service".
Cabin was the same as every other cabin we had been in. No real complaints.
