Sail Date: Jul 2019
Cabin: Deluxe Veranda 2B

I chose Celebrity because we had sailed on the Eclipse two years ago and then Royal Caribbean’s Independence last year and felt that Celebrity was the better option. But I think they have got complacent and it seems to have extended to the bar staff who need a serious lesson in customer service.

The bar service, particularly in the Sky Lounge was appalling, rarely a smile or any eye contact at all....perhaps it was being reserved for Premium package customers...!

Entertainment poor by comparison with previous cruises. Theatre group had a couple of decent shows but the ‘Cabaret’ acts were poor....particularly when you consider the cost of this cruise. There was a reasonable Phil Collins tribute (although why he felt the need to keep doing the splits was somewhat bewildering) and a comedian, Jon Courtenay, was the highlight. The rest was forgettable. The last comedian had taken 36 hours to get to the boat....and spent the first 20 minutes of his act telling us all about it...he needn’t have bothered....he died on his backside.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

Cabin was adequate. Can’t get too worked up about the quality of the cabin. Bed was very comfortable. Could have been bigger....but we do only spend about two hours in it awake...!

Port Reviews

Not overly interesting

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Shame we didn’t have longer.

Florence (Livorno)

Pisa was nice, where the Tower was....but not enough time to explore Florence as well unless you paid for ridiculously expensive excursions.

Beautiful place.

Just like walking down a depressing English High St.....and not much cheaper either.
