Our last cruise was onboard a MSC ship and almost put us off cruising for life so bad was the experience fortunately our week on the Edge was a million times better and has restored our faith in cruising starting with a smooth check in followed by a lovely warm welcome onboard and welcome drinks and then been able to leave our hand baggage in our stateroom where we met our brilliant attendant Mistan who as we had a last minute change of stateroom made sure we got our luggage delivered to our new room and then did a great job for the rest of the cruise. We had one of the controversial infinite balcony staterooms and have to say we loved it as it made the room feel so much bigger and brighter. We used the four MDRs and the food and service was great, we only used one specialty restaurant the Rooftop Grill but we didn’t think it was worth the extra money. We had breakfast in the Tuscan Restaurant where we were in the capable hands of the lovely Captains Club hostess Elizabeth and her great staff. For lunch we picked a quite spot in the Oceanview or went to the Eden Cafe.We did our own thing in port staying ashore for a couple of hours so can’t rate the shore excursions, then back onboard to enjoy a quite ship.We loved the variety of nightly entertainment particularly the silent disco, ship bands and the love it or hate it Eden show, certainly something for all different tastes. We availed of the extend your stay option at the end of the cruise as we were staying on in Barcelona spending another day onboard using the pools and whirlpool, coffee in Cafe al Bacio and lunch in The Oceanview, certainly beats queuing for taxis in the heat and waiting for your hotel room to be ready. In summary what we got was attentive and friendly staff, great food and service, great entertainment and a beautiful ship plus lovely fellow passengers.
Very pleased with our cabin and our wonderful attendant and we loved the Infinite Balcony.
