There is definitely something to be said for doing the same route throughout the year. We chose this cruise because it was the only cruise line that circled the Hawaiian Islands in the summer, when the kids were out of school. Very well organized. You're at port every day. Felt safe...much more so than when traveling out of the country. Our Spring cell phones charged local rates on land, but needed to have the ship's wifi service on the boat. Food was excellent. We did both sit-down and buffet. Kids (10, 11, 13) loved the kids and teen club and looked forward to it every evening. Excellent choice of excursions; was very happy with being able to experience the different islands, climate, and culture; engaged and knowledgeable tour guides. Fitness center was great; clean, spacious, well stocked with equipment; we went nearly every day of the cruise. Great value: flights across the country and then half way across the Pacific, four islands, excursions at every port, twice daily cabin service, kids' clubs, delicious food of a wide variety...would not have been realistically affordable any other way for a family of 5.
