Our third time with Royal and first time in Europe, over all is good experience and port intensive cruise only one sea day. Got to build in your own off time to make it enjoyable. We explore all of the ports on our own using Rick Steve guide. Most of the port are pretty easy to explore your own and is much cheaper if you on the budget. The ship is huge and with 5000 plus people doesn’t feel very crowed. Make sure book your shows and reserved your dinning even for my time dinning. We found 2 or 3 place we really like and keep going back every day to relax. My only complaint was the food at main dinning room was bad, they give you large quantities but poorly cook. Some night we feel buffet was better option. All of the staff work very hard try to make you feel comfortable. Entertainment staff are great, but you can only pick few you really want to do and enjoy. You will not have time to do everything.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

Cabin 4D

Room was efficient but small. Thing are falling apart, the sliding door for balcony doesn’t work. The speaker on the balcony fall down and wake us up middle of the night. Was eventually fix after 3 days.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Take the free shuttle to port center and take a local bus to train station (5min) or 15 walk. Explore Rome by catch IC train to Rome central.

Naples

Visited Pompeii and explore downtown. We catch metro (5 min walk from port) to the train station then buy a ticket to Pompeii and explore. Try to do it early And have few hours left to explore downtown Naples.

Barcelona

There is free port shuttle (Stop C) to the city center where there you can catch metro and explore. We did the HOHO bus for 30 euro. Pick few point of interest and get off the bus to explore. We did the Sagrada Familia, park gueill, pl Catalunya

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Take a shuttle from ship to city central. Cost I believe was 10. You can explore the town yourself pretty small area. If you into food should check out the Mercat del Olivar which has good place for tapas and super maket for water and beer.

Marseille

Our lease favorites port, the ship want 20 euro for shuttle to the city center. If you walk 10 min out from the port there is free shuttle drop you off at center

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

Visit cinque terre ourself. Buy a 17 day pass including the park pass. Hop off which every village want to visit. Great place to visit.
