We sailed as a family with two girls aged 12 and 14. Previously we have sailed with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America and Princess. This was one of our top three cruises and the food and service in the main dining room was the best we have received on any cruise. The food was consistently very good every day except on the last day when the medium rare steak I requested was served well done. However, these things happen and the steak was immediately replaced by our excellent waiter Aryana - he went above and beyond to provide truly excellent service every day without fail.
The ship and facilities were excellent and well kept despite the age of the vessel. I have sailed on much newer ships but there was enough to keep the whole family occupied. We enjoyed the evening shows, quizzes, dance lessons, pool facilities, etc. and the kids particularly liked the silent discos (very fun) and watching evening movies from the top deck on the big screen.
The itinerary was very port intensive with only one sea day so unless you are looking for the ship to be a floating resort with climbing walls, water slides, multiple restaurants, etc., you should be able to find plenty to do.
