The staff were mostly lovely, helpful and willing. Though it was difficult to communicate with some as their English was poor.
The trips were reasonably well organised, pity that the Scilly isles had to be omitted, sea too rough to use the tender.
Food at dinner in the Waterfront restaurant was sometimes tepid, sometimes it was very difficult to find a seat in the upstairs buffet, I think most of us enjoyed the food most of the time. Wide choice in the buffet.
Cabin Review
Decent size and well laid out. Could have done with a coat of paint to freshen it up. Plenty of storage, but I was on my own. Probably still good enough for two people.
The toilet ceased flushing, reported it twice during the day. Still not working after dinner, decided to leave telling them again till next day. Went to bathroom at 12.20am only to find the WC overflowing the carpet was saturated. Two men took till 1am to pump outstanding water, carpet was still very wet. Next day a dehumidifier was provided, large and very noisy. I was tired after the previous disturbed night, but could not rest in my cabin. I was offered another cabin, despite asking twice they refused to say if it had a window[ mine did] or where it was. As there were notices up to say all the cabins were fill so no upgrades, I guess it was an inside one that no one else wanted.
I had to put in a formal complaint in order to get an apology. I was also given their cheapest wine[ £3.50 on the internet] some fruit from the dining room,[ blackened banana] and 8 petit fours. A meal in the grill had been mentioned but I was told I did not qualify for that. I think their reaction to my cabin being soaked in sewage was less than impressive. Had to wash shoes and suitcase and I walked in it. Sadly, that will be my most enduring memory though the rest of the cruise was pleasant.
