As we are only 30 minutes from the cruise terminal, Robin worked (at the local hospital) until noon on Sunday. We picked up our friends Alex and Roger and headed for Galveston. Robin dropped us off at the terminal with our bags, parked, and caught the shuttle back to the terminal. All went smoothly and we were aboard before 2 pm.

Our cabin was ready with the exception of the beds still being in the "twin" format. Also, the safe was locked and we were unable to access it. Our inside cabin was large enough for the two of us. We had ample drawer and closet space. We always take one of the over-the-door mesh storage "thingies" to put large bathroom items in so we had plenty of counter space. There was a small table which we used almost every morning for room service breakfast, a chair and a stool. Another helpful thing we take along is a power strip since there is only one electrical receptacle. With the strip we can charge camera, computer, etc. at the same time. A call to housekeeping brought someone to unlock the safe and by bedtime, the beds had been changed to the "king" format.

We thought the food in the Monet dining room was some of the best we have enjoyed on any of our cruises. I am always reluctant to order the beef as on other ship it has been tough and dry. Was not the case on the Conquest. Was tasty and tender. Only The Point exceeded the Monet in quality. Impeccable service and perfect steak in The Point.

Cabin Review

Adequate. Great room steward.
