This was our first cruise and we were up to minute afraid it would not happen due to Barry. We found out 2 days ahead we would actually sail and drove to NOLA on Sunday and spent the night. Convention blvd is pretty torn up around the Port so that was a bit of a nightmare but boarding on Monday was very smooth and the porters very nice in making sure our luggage and our departure was stress free. The stateroom was a balcony and pleasant, clean and more than we expected. But the lounge area we first entered upon boarding was loud, crazy and the bartenders hassled and not friendly. I would have expected Carnival to allow a larger area for everyone to gather at first. Other than that everything went well. We had a wonderful time and wonderful weather. The crew was nice and gracious. The only thing in the stateroom was a bit of slow drain in shower. Overall a wonderful first experience! Main dining charges for surf and turf lobster and steak and the lobster was over cooked and tough. Not worth the $20 extra bucks for sure. Drinks are pricey so be prepared. Was warned about the spa being a money suck, so did not partake. Love that there were 2 areas for adults only and they were enforced by stewards. Nightly shows were cheezy and not to my taste. The comedian was hilarious but be warned he is VERY adult.
Nice, well kept, balcony is clean and private. Above listing as to balcony, I don’t know what 8F means. We were forward, Deck 10 balcony.
