Sail Date: Jul 2019
Cabin: Inside

My fiance and myself decided to sail with the Gem because a huge chunk of my family wanted to go on vacation together. We ended up with a group of 28 (though we all booked separately) and overall had a blast.

The buffet food was delicious, and they had a different theme every night (American, Caribbean, BBQ, Mexican, etc). There were burgers, pizza, and a few other staples each night for my one who didn't want the themed food. The Pacific dining room was mixed. We ate there one night and although my fiancee and I were happy with our meals, about half of my family members were not. The meals looked fine, so I believe it was more a matter of taste/not being overly impressed rather than any mistakes.

Thwere was plenty of entertainment after 4pm, but before that we couldn't find much tp do besides music at the pool or drinking. There was a different live music/dancing show twice each evening, as well as a few comedy shows. All were fairly well done, but nothing most people would regret missing. There are also a few live musicians/bands that play every day for hours. We particularly enjoyed the piano player/comedian, Justin Golan.

Cabin Review

Inside

Cabin IC

The cabin was always made up wel,l and the steward was friendly and attentive. There is a thermostat, so we were able to control the temperature ourselves. Inside cabins are very small, and there is very little room between the bed and the wall. Someone who is not able to get on from the foot of the bed may have trouble.

The room also comes with a mini fridge stocked with drinks (extra cost) as well as a few bottles of water (extra cost as well). The room has a TV, but movies are also an extra cost-though there is enough to do that we never considered watching a movie.

Bathrooms come with a toilet, sink, and shower. Soap and shampoo is provided, as well as towels and glasses for brushing your teeth/drinking.

Port Reviews

Boston

The Boston port is fine. Nothing special, not very good looking
