We chose this cruise for the itinerary and loved it. Embarkation was fast and easy.
Our cabin steward was great and brought us all the extra things we asked for.
The rooms are smaller than other cruise lines, but the mini-suite was worth it for the nice tub and shower. Not a lot of storage. The movie channel often did not work and the movies are repeated throughout the week.
The drink package was disappointing in the fact that there were very few wines available. We like to try different wines, but they were out of most of the wines that were in the package and $20 bottles of wine at Bevmo were $24 a glass on the ship - which was $9 per glass more than the package would allow. The sommelier was not the friendliest woman we have encountered.
I'm not sure why we always fall for the drawings and raffles - always a disappointment with long sales pitches (especially the Spa raffle).
Most of the entertainment was good, dancers better than singers, and those dancers work so hard! The Elements show was definitely the best of the week.
The adult pool was great.
Overall the staff was friendly throughout the ship.
The steakhouse was the best restaurant on the ship, the Italian restaurant was fantastic, but the main dining room was not bad either.
We didn't take any excursions but loved renting cars and taking the buses all over the islands instead. Much cheaper and way more fun to have the freedom to roam at your own pace.
We ended up getting off a day early in Livorno and went to Florence for a few days instead of going back to Rome. It was a great way to get off the ship - easy and whatever time we wanted to - but it was expensive to get to Florence.
All in all - it was the wonderful ports that made it a great trip.
