Sail Date: May 2019
Cabin: Outside Twin with Balcony and Shower
Off to St Peter Port.
Gala dinner night. Red Bar.

I'd never fancied a cruise - this was a friend's choice for a "girly weekend away" for us 2 older ladies. I expected to hate every minute - but actually really enjoyed it.

Our cabin was spotless and the beds were really comfortable. The whole experience was so good that we have booked another cruise for the Autumn.

I simply don't understand the poor reviews given by some people regarding the staff/food/bars, etc. All the staff were fantastic: always helpful and cheerful. There were a number of bars, all with different atmospheres. If you don't want karaoke, then there's a lot more to choose from! (We liked The Red Bar, which was quiet and uncrowded.)

Cabin Review

Outside Twin with Balcony and Shower

Spotlessly clean & very spacious. Shower room perfectly adequate.

Only criticism is that the bright green light on the cabin thermostat shone directly into my eyes at night.

Port Reviews

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

Nothing much to see in St Peter Port that was of interest to us. Visited the Victorian Shop (OK) and the Old Quarter. Thought we'd taken a wrong turn, but apparently the Old Quarter is now just a cobbled street containing mostly boarded-up shopfronts, and little else. Very disappointing.

Otherwise, St Peter Port is a pleasant-enough town (bit steep in places) with the usual high-street chains.
