We love the med cruises and wanted to cruise again with the Jade after her dry dock.
The ship is in excellent conditions and the refurbishment shows its effects. The Atrium is just gorgeous.
The speciality restaurants are very good and we loved the new location of the Moderno, serving excellent meat as in Brazil. Service allover is perfect .
We were a little bit disappointed with the quality of the buffet and thought it was much better in the past. Breakfast service in the Great Outdoors should be improved to match the other parts: empty milk cans every morning,1 day toaster not working, another day one coffee machine down.
Improvement needed on:
- the mineral water which is not a true -mineral- water and is therefore way too expensive
- reservations management of the specialty restaurants; they say full but often empty tables during a long period of time
- wifi performance: sometimes very poor even at night when everybody sleeps !
Great entertainment almost every evening, excellent shows. Don't miss the show on the penultimate evening.
Shore excursions: we took 2 tours organized with NCL and we were glad we had private arrangements in the other ports: expensive compared to renting a chauffeur-driven vehicle, local operators not always under control, huge delay in Livorno which made us missed a spa arrangement.
Embarkation in Civitavecchia: ok according to the circumstances; NCL does its best to cope with the poor local facilities. we had to wait for more than 1 hour with some fellow cruisers for a shuttle at the official bus stop Molo Dei Bicchiere ( no NCL local number to call)
Disembarkation: quick and well-organized.
Our mini-suite had a large balcony and was near the aft elevators; TV channels not always audible (unstable signal).
Problem in accessing the wardrobe and the doors could not be opened in full.
