I have been fortunate to travel to the UK on several occasions, visiting family, presenting at conferences and enjoying the theatre scene. So exploring London before heading to the cruise was not a high priority, although the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, where I stayed before and after the cruise, was well located to explore walking and public transport. Embarkation went smoothly and the cabin attendant was very welcoming. I had booked anytime dining and enjoyed the flexibility that enabled. It meant the opportunity to be seated with a range of people and share experiences on the journey. I had never been to Guernsey or Belfast or Orkney and I loved the discoveries in these destinations: the appealing Chapel in Guernsey, walking the walls in Derry, and the standing stones on Orkney. I also loved the chance to revisit Dublin, Edinburgh and Glasgow. I was travelling solo so I took advantage of the ship activity quizzes to introduce myself to people. I also very much enjoyed the pianist/singer in the Crooners. Loved his sense of humour and knowledge of the music he was playing. I also enjoyed the art mini-lecture and the art auctions and came away with two very attractive lithographs. I would certainly go cruising again.
The cabin had adequate hanging space and a secure safe. It was convenient to get to events on the ship and excursion points. It was well kept throughout the cruise.
