Overall, an amazing cruise. Great weather. Amazing sites. Ship is beautiful and staff really works to keep it spotless. Service was spot on.

Took the train/subway from the airport to the Waterfront stop - super easy and convenient ($8 CAN). Though on a weekday it might be crowded with our luggage (it was Saturday). We stayed at the PanPacific right above the cruise port in Vancouver the night before the cruise. Nice but very expensive. Really appreciated the free luggage transfer to the ship though.

This was our first Celebrity cruise (Diamond on Royal Caribbean) and although it was great, Royal does it better overall. However, I appreciated that Celebrity seems to be less pushy than Royal with the up-selling and shopping on the ship.

Sky Suite 2

Cabin S2

Sky Suite was amazing – almost too much space for two people. But we liked the larger bathroom and rain shower. We were worried being on Deck 12 right under the buffet because I read some think it can get noisy with carts and chairs scraping the floor, but we hardly noticed it and any loud noise was rare. Balcony was large and perfect for an Alaska cruise.

Port Reviews

Vancouver

Great city - nice to walk around.

Ketchikan

Not much to see on your own. We took the walking tour on the map they give out at the visitors center - it takes you down some back roads where there isn't anything but some houses. The 'beachfront promenade" is a rickety dock to nowhere. And just a warning - the map says you can take an "easy 45 minute walk" with a "gentle" slope on the Rainbird Trail. I hiked the train and it was beautiful - a real rain forest! But it is NOT an easy walk. There isn't a sign at the beginning but at the other end of the trail near University of Alaska there is a more accurate sign that says the trail is "steep and rocky" and "parts require sure footing and may not be suitable for all fitness levels." I was fine, but just be aware that it is a bit treacherous in a few places.
