We just came back from a four day cruise to the Grand Bahamas. It was our first cruise and we could not have asked for more. The food was excellent. The service was impeccable. The ship itself was a fun experience with adventures on each deck. It was a truly eclectic crowd and very friendly. Everyone will fit in here. What was unexpected was the high quality of the entertainment. We stayed on the island and were pleasantly surprised by its cleanliness and clean beaches. Totally safe and uncrowded. The camera does not lie and we have many photos of the wonderful experiences. To see the sunrise at 6 am from the cruise ship over the calm blue and turquoise waters was unforgettable. After all it is ultimately about the experience of getting close to Nature. The price is so low that I know we will be back whenever we want a quick escape. After all the Bahama Mama is calling.

Cabin Suite

The onboarding was a breeze. My mother in law was given a wheel chair and taken to her room. Very spacious and roomy suite. Champagne bottle, Fruit and cheese plate. Clean and comfortable bed with a bathroom that was oversized. Colorful linens. Comfortable pillow. The interior exudes charm. On the main deck there was a pool party going on which everyone had joined in. The bar tenders were very friendly and the drinks were generous. We had dinner in the Stella restaurant and the food was fresh. We had come as part of a group and there were customized dishes for us. Both the sunset and the sunrise next day made for spectacular photos. Did yoga with Betsy, a very sweet trainer next morning. Disembarkation was a breeze and the Bahamas immigration office did not take any time. Then we were boarded onto buses and taken to the Wynn resort.

We did have to wait for the rooms to be cleaned and got them around 3 pm. But we used the time to go to the beach outside. Dinner at the resort and food generally was standard resort fare. The fresh omelettes were welcome. The fried plantains were tasty and there were other island recipes. We did tour the island and were struck by how peaceful it is. Very clean and one really feels that one has got away. There were the standard water activities.

Return trip on the boat was again very smooth on boarding. This time we listened to the entertainment and the jazz duo was outstanding. The crowd was a small, intimate one so the entertainer could personalize the experience. The smooth scotch helped I guess. Most of the cruisers were gambling in the casino which was bursting at the seams. Again, dinner in the Stella restaurant where the chefs outdid themselves.

We disembarked next morning having left our bags outside at midnight. The crew had carted those outside for us. This time the wait was a bit longer even though the ship had staggered the passengers. We got lucky since we were part of the group and got fast track. Then outside and time to Uber to our rental car so that we could drive to our next adventure. We were very grateful to the entire staff for a wonderful experience. This is a very unpretentious brand which greatly exceeds what it charges and beats expectations. We will return.
