Really nice, smooth sailing comfortable ship that was clean, well designed, well attended with excellent room / waiter service, two flow riders, a beautiful 8th floor central garden, rock climbing, zip line, too much entertainment for us to choose from all to outstanding sites with many options for excursions. We flew into Barcelona directly from Newark, cleared customs in Barcelona that was not as smooth as Rome last year but was reasonable (about 45 minutes) got our bags and took a flat rate cab of 39 euros from the airport to the cruise terminal. Got right on board without any hassle e.g. showed our passports, got our room cards and boarded the ship by noon. Went to lunch and got into our room when it was ready by 1 pm. Had a great first day doing zip liner and flow rider, went to first great dinner (always at Grande restaurant for dinner). Second day Mallorca island off the coast of Spain went on the Drach cave tour (really nice) - really tremendous to see. Next day went to Provences of South of France visiting St. Martin and Le Beaux after seeing luminere mine art beaming of Van Gough works. Villages of France trip was wonderful. Wife got lots of nice perfumes, we had some great cheese and wine, loved the villages that had really nice local shopping with a passionate outstanding guide. Next went to Florence on the museum tour - had lunch included on the excursion that was really good pasta (lasagna) / red wine (good table) / salad / tiramisu gelato for desert. Walked through all of Florence, saw a presentation on the quality of their gold (skipped the leather presentation for more gelato for the kids on our own), went to the museum with the highlight being the statue of David by Michelangelo (truly the best sculpture I have ever seen) - the marble just glistened! The rest of the museum we could get to was darn good too. We pretty much walked and were toured through the key central areas of Florence that was outstanding. Next we went into Rome using Royal Caribbean just for the bus in and out of Rome. We went to our favorite places in Rome to visit (favorite gelato / crepe place on Nationale), Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, walked all around experiencing Rome once again (such a beautiful city). Final cruise stop was one hour boat ride to Capri (where we had a traditional spinach ravioli lunch (B-) with wine (D), salad (F) and lemon cake (B) that was at best a over all solid C, then a short ride to Sorrento where we toured through -Sorrento I could go back to, never to Capri that is way over rated (Santorini in Greece is much better / similar island) followed by a short tour of Pompei. I was disappointed at Pompeii because Rome to me has similar albeit not as ancient ruins that are grander throughout the city (Coliseum, Pantheon) that were in part restored. That tour did too much and was a bit hurried because of the busy itinerary for us, but still a joy to experience. We went back to Barcelona after eating our final breakfast (all the food was very good (great at dinners) and there was so much choice with every meal that we expect on a cruise), left our week cruise to pick up a cab, go to a hotel, stay a day in Barcelona (went to Barceloneta beach and went to Sagrada Familiar Church (must see in Barcelona)) then woke up the next day, took a high speed train to Paris, stayed in a really nice quaint hotel for three nights, went to the Louvre, went up the Eiffel tower, had a grand time on our own before flying back to Newark directly from Paris. Just a fantastic vacation with everything being great with our foundation of the vacation being the cruise and most importantly the fantastic excursions in Spain, Italy and France!
