We chose Princess Cruise because it has a good reputation. We would rather pay a little more and have a good experience rather than cut corners and have a bad experience. It was my first cruise and it was a blast! We took the northbound 7-day Alaska cruise from Vancouver to Whittier.
Our party consisted of six people mainly family and friends. Embarkation was spread over four hours so it was a smooth process. We checked our bags at the beginning and did some sightseeing in downtown Vancouver before boarding the ship. Disembarkation went very smooth and fast as well. The cabin was exactly like the photographs on the website. The steward did an exceptional job keeping the room tidy, refreshing used towels and making the beds. During the cruise there was always some activity that appealed to each person in our group. Our teenage son liked Trivia event which happened about twice a day, the older folks like the comedy shows and production shows. The girls liked the Zumba classes. The food tasted delicious, had good variety and presented beautifully. We had the experience of dining in a sit-down restaurant every meal with attentive waiters and a nice ambiance. If we were in a hurry to leave on an excursion we ate at the buffet restaurant where there was a great array of food selection. The service in all the restaurants was great. We did the Glacier view kayaking excursion in Juneau and it was adventurous and fun. The time at each port of call allowed us to experience the city and enjoy the Alaskan landscape and culture.
We will definitely choose Princess for our next cruise. We can't wait for our next cruise on Princess!
The cabin was beautifully decorated and the living room was just the right size for our group of six to get together and play board games and enjoy the view from the balcony. The steward was diligent and made sure the room was always tidy by making the bed and refreshing the linens.
We wanted to do a fun activity like kayaking and this was a good excursion. We enjoyed the activity.
We went to a musher's camp and rode on a dog sled. We enjoyed the experience a lot.
