My sister and I decided we needed to visit Alaska and thought a cruise would be the best place to start. Based on other recommendations, we chose Princess cruise line and we had a great time. There were times where we really didn't know what to expect, but that's sometimes fun when on vacation. Princess staff takes care of the details and we just went with the flow.

We made sure to get a balcony room because we both wanted time away from people but wanted to be able to breathe in the fresh air and see the beauty of Alaska. Our cabin was surprisingly spacious...for a ship. We obviously had single beds, but we had plenty of room to walk around and packed well so we could use our closets and put our suitcases under our beds. The balcony was a must and we spent quite a bit of time out there. I suggest bringing slippers because the mat on the floor is rough on the toes.

The bathroom was great and the shower had great water pressure and was roomy enough. Even though Princess says it supplies toiletrees, the conditioner is with the shampoo and if you have conditioning needs, what is supplied is not enough.
