My sister and I decided we needed to visit Alaska and thought a cruise would be the best place to start. Based on other recommendations, we chose Princess cruise line and we had a great time. There were times where we really didn't know what to expect, but that's sometimes fun when on vacation. Princess staff takes care of the details and we just went with the flow.

We made sure to get a balcony room because we both wanted time away from people but wanted to be able to breathe in the fresh air and see the beauty of Alaska. Our cabin was surprisingly spacious...for a ship. We obviously had single beds, but we had plenty of room to walk around and packed well so we could use our closets and put our suitcases under our beds. The balcony was a must and we spent quite a bit of time out there. I suggest bringing slippers because the mat on the floor is rough on the toes.

The bathroom was great and the shower had great water pressure and was roomy enough. Even though Princess says it supplies toiletrees, the conditioner is with the shampoo and if you have conditioning needs, what is supplied is not enough. We ended up buying a small conditioner in the ship shop.

Cabin BA

A246 was a great place to spend our time. With a balcony, we could see all the views and didn't need to rush to get to a public deck. I will NEVER travel without a balcony.

Port Reviews

Skagway

It was good to have guides take us through the scenic area the boat wouldn't capture.

Glacier Bay

We didn't leave the ship but instead had a park ranger go into great detail about the history of glaciers. This was one of our favorite days and we loved learning and taking in the beauty of Alaska!

Victoria

We did take a shuttle bus into town and we loved every short second. What a beautiful place Victoria is. If there is a reason to travel, it's to find the places you need to revisit and for us, Victoria is one of those places.

We had time to take in the beauty of the city and shop but then needed to get back on our ship.
