I have a few things on my bucket list, and visiting Croatia is one of them. I'm using cruises to identify the places that I'd like to spend more time in, in the future, so the Oceana itinerary suited me just fine.
The itinerary was changed about a month before we sailed. Split was removed, to be replaced with Hvar, and the other ports were re-ordered - allegedly so that we could return to Malta from an EU port. Hmmm.
This was my second cruise, and the first from a non-UK port. It went really well.
Cabin Review
Balcony Stateroom with Shower
I was dubious about the cabin before I got on-board - the decor didn't particularly appeal to me, the paler woodwork didn't looks good and I was worried about the shower having a curtain rather than a glass door.
In the end, I was 100% happy with my cabin. It was nice and quiet, and felt very spacious The layout was good and there was plenty of storage space. (NB: I was travelling as a solo.) I should also say that I was a little concerned about the number of mirrors in the room - I'm one of those strange people who doesn't like looking at herself - but they were great and really contributed to the light and airy feel of the room so worked well.
Being on L-deck means that you're very handy for the bars and Grab & Go so I was able to take advantage of both and spend some nice leisurely lunches sitting on my balcony, watching the scenery and enjoying a quiet pint on my own. The balcony was bijou but adequate - I spent hours out there every day!
As far as the facilities went, the bed was very comfortable and I had no problems at all with the shower curtain despite my original concerns. I didn't use the minibar and hardly used the TV, so can't feedback on those I'm afraid.
