Disclaimer: This review is shaded a happy hue due to this vacation being an opportunity to celebrate our son's recent graduation from college.
If you don't want to read the entire review I will begin with the summary. We had a very good time during our seven day cruise. This partially refurbished ship is still the Celebrity Equinox, the staff remain as friendly and hard working as ever, there are fun and interesting passengers to meet, and there are places throughout the Caribbean that are as beautiful as any place on Earth.
We left for South Florida on Friday, on a plane that took off just minutes after the 2019 Summer Solstice occurred. We overnighted at the Comfort Suites, which is convenient to both the airport and Port Everglades.
Because this was a particularly special occasion, the aforementioned graduation and our recent wedding anniversary, we treated ourselves to a Royal Suite. This stateroom was easily the largest and most well appointed we have ever had while at sea. The extra square feet of space worked very well for the three of us. Currently, there is plenty of storage in this stateroom and the amenities helped us mark a special time in our lives. An added plus was provided by the butler who helped looked after us on our Azores and Canary Island tour last fall. She is a good-natured and good-hearted human being, and although she was clearly stressed at times, we thought she worked to provide top notch service. Our stateroom attendant was a friendly fellow who during the week cleaned the stateroom with a smile.
