My husband and I, along with my father and his wife wanted to do an Alaskan cruise together. We chose this particular one because 1) it traveled north, we wanted to see the landscape change and the days become longer, 2) we wanted to visit Vancouver prior to our trip, 3) we wanted to travel around the particular date we chose, 4) we wanted a smaller ship (not the Royal) and the Coral had good reviews, 5) the pricing was very good for that ship, on those dates, on that route.

At the time of booking Princess was offering a $300 shipboard credit, and the travel agency we booked through offered us an additional shipboard credit, so together we were able to cover our shore excursions, ship gratuities, and still have a bit more left over for extras. The booking through our agency was more time consuming than expected, but I don't have anything else to compare with.

In all, the cruise exceeded our expectations. We had a fabulous time with little to no complaint to speak of. The food was amazing and plentiful. My husband and I committed to taking the stairs the entire time on the cruise to try and offset the extra calorie intake. This made for excellent exercise. The entertainment was fabulous. We especially enjoyed Duo Casiopia and Tempo Quatro. The Broadway musical type productions were also top notch. One surprise was bringing Megan Brunning on board at Juno. She is a world renown soprano.

Cabin B2

Our cabin was fantastic! The design and use of space was outstanding, particularly in the bathroom and closet area. Even though it was a small space, I never felt crowded or lacking space for anything.

Surprisingly, it was a king size bed and was super comfy. We also had a desk and chair area as well as a mini fridge. My parents next door complained that the chair was uncomfortable and they wish they had two arm chairs, but that issue did not bother either myself or my husband.

The huge slider going out to the balcony was fabulous as it afforded a full view, and the blackout curtains worked great, especially as we traveled north. We had a premium balcony, but in retrospect, now I feel we didn't need the extra depth, as when we did go out we hung out at the railing. I think a regular size would have sufficed, plus I think the longer dividers between cabins actually obstruct the view a bit. I was very glad we had a cabin with a balcony giving us the option to stay in our cabin and see the views inside or outside, and there were so many!

I liked that the cabin is pretty much mid ship and accessible to everything from here. Overall it was a great cabin!
