I chose this cruise specifically to photograph the inner passage. Booked the large suite in the back of the boat. Apparently this ship is too large to navigate the inner passage and instead detoured out to sea for a day of watching rough waves. Never notified us of the change either before the sailing or the day of. The suite was nice, deck large bathroom beautiful. The air quality in the suite was horrendous.. There was supposed to be an enhanced room service menu for this category suite but there was not. Prior sailings in smaller suites we were able to order lobster in our rooms but here we could get hot dogs and PB&J. They also charge you a fee for a soda even if you have the beverage package. The one excursion we did was the private Hummer in Skagway. The vehicle was filthy, the heater didn't work and the defroster didn't work as well as the windows in the back were broken. We froze for 4 hours driving with the windows cracked and we had to continually wipe the windshield for the driver so he could see going over the mountainous road. We booked this excursion months earlier so there was no excuse for us to have that vehicle. We also paid for the ship to airport transfer going home. They put us on the wrong bus and we had to go thru customs. Got dropped off in the terminal nowhere near our luggage and no one to direct us. The ship was new and most of the crew had no idea where anything was located. No one knew where to send us to get off the ship, where restaurants were located etc. Onboard activities were mostly jewelry, art, beauty treatments for purchase. The concierge didn't have a clue on most things. The guest services area is too small for this size ship. The Casino smelled so badly of smoke you couldn't even walk by it. Sabitinos was the best restaurant. Crown menu was good, service painfully slow. All in all this was the worst cruise i've ever been on and definitely not worth what we paid for. If you're going to Alaska don't sail on this ship.
