My DH and myself decided in March to take a cruise for our anniversary. We have sailed on the Celebrity Summit twice in the last three years and really love the Celebrity experience. We were looking for a cruise that had Key West and Grand Cayman in the itinerary and this sailing worked for our summer schedule. Since we have not been on this particular ship before, we didn't notice any changes since the partial refurbishment, but we knew which areas had been changed and found the overall look of the ship to be well decorated. We had a Concierge level stateroom with a slanted balcony (9241) and really liked the larger balcony. Our room had been refurbished and we really liked the colors and wall decor.

A few things we noticed in this cruise that were different than our Summit sailings. These could be differences in the crew or in training or just fewer crew per passenger since the Equinox is a larger ship. 1)We did not meet our stateroom attendant until at least day 4. We don't hang around our cabin a great deal, but on the Summit we usually met the attendant the first or second day. 2)We typically order room service a few days during our cruise. We had food items forgotten (which they brought immediately when we told them upon arrival), they delivered one morning without calling first, and they only called once to check on our room service experience. 3) MDR - on the Summit, the assistant waiter would always let us know what the types of butters were on the table. This seems like a silly thing to notice, but we found we missed that little part of the introduction to the meal! Towards the end of the cruse, we just went ahead and asked what they were.

The cruise director, Martin, was fabulous. Very friendly, entertaining, and approachable.
