We wanted to select this specific itinerary to go to Wales, Belfast, Rejkavik, Norwegian Fjords and Bruges. The ship was too small to smoothly sail the North Sea between Ireland and Iceland, so in our 12 foot seas (I know, that's not very big) there were lots of barf bags being used. But that was only 1 day out of 14 so everyone forgot it. We loved the greenery of Ireland and Wales, plus their unique histories. Iceland has a stark beauty that's not to be missed. But Norway is the creme'-de-la-creme' if you are looking for majestic beauty! The Flam train coursed thru green mountains surrounded by waterfalls and was truly breathtaking! It is touted as the Most Beautiful Train Ride in Europe, and we believe it. It is a definite Bucket List for any adventurer. But Bruges, Belgium was the Piece'-de-Resistance'. This little village is perhaps the most charming and quaint location in Europe.

The ship is a bit old, but we knew that going in and were not bothered by it. The itinerary is what drove us to select this cruise. The staff were all wonderful and the entertainment was actually second to none. It was all very good. We'd love to do this same cruise again, and I can recommend it strongly.

Port Reviews

Reykjavik

It was just OK. The story about the waterfall was interesting.

Akureyri

It was fun seeing the old Priest's church and primitive homes they lived in with grass covered roofs. Our guide was quite good.

Geiranger

Geiranger Fjord was beautiful. We had the good fortune of having beautiful weather so viewing the waterfalls and green mountain slopes was wonderful.
