Sail Date: Jun 2019

We chose this trip because of the dates, the itinerary and because it was round trip from Seattle. My sister and I have little cruise experience, so we weren't sure what to expect. The ship is beautiful and well kept. The itinerary was perfect (although looking back would have liked a shorter time in Skagway and a longer time in Ketchikan).

We arrived the day before embarkation and stayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown. It was walking distance from the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens (stunning). We took a pedi-cab from there to Pike Place Market to look around. Be aware that even on a Friday night, PPM closes up at 5:00 pm. We were disappointed about that. We Uber'ed back to our hotel for less than $8. The hotel had a shuttle to the pier for $10/person.

Dining was excellent. We chose anytime dining, and loved our waiter and junior waiter so we returned to the same table each night (the flexibility to choose what time we ate was nice).

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

We were in stateroom A246. The cabin itself was surprisingly roomy. We had a balcony which is a must in my opinion. It was so nice to get away from the bustle periodically, read, take great photos, etc. We probably weren't supposed to, but we left the balcony door open about 8" each night. The fresh, cool air and the sounds of the ocean were wonderful for sleep. We had 3 outlets (surprised about that as I'd read in multiple places that there was only 1). There was a lot of space for hanging clothes and there was a tower of shelving for storage, too. The in room safe was easy to use. They provide shower gel and combo shampoo/conditioner. We bought a small conditioner in the gift shop as we don't like combos but it was fine for shampoo. The shower was small, of course, but the water pressure was great.

We brought an over the door shoe holder and hung it on the closet bar. It was nice for storage of small items. I'd recommend bringing magnet hooks, too. The walls of the cabin are metal and we hung our lanyards and light cross body purses on them. We also used them to keep our excursion tickets in one spot.

We brought magnets of our home states to put on our cabin door. Most people didn't decorate their doors, but it was fun to see doors that did have something on them (most were magnets or postcards from their home state).
