We booked this cruise 3 days before the trip because prices were too good. The ship is very large with 3600 passengers but fairly new and everything worked nicely. Surprisingly no lines for buffets in Horizon food court. Few times it was hard to find the table. For made to order eggs they take the order and give you slip of paper which you give to waiter. This cuts down lines. Wait staff was very helpful and brought tea/water/lemonade quickly to the table. Our cabin was C108, CARIB deck balcony. We enjoyed the scenery but didn't stay in the balcony too long (due to cold). I would say we used balcony much less than warmer climates. Also best views are found on top decks for glaciers, the ship actually makes multiple 360 degree turns to give everyone a good view. I would seriously consider not purchasing balcony on Alaska cruise. You don't see much wildlife anyways. Better save the money for excursions. The bedding on this ship was the best, very comfortable. Our room steward took good care of us. Unlike Carnival on Princess they still do room cleanup twice a day. This cabin location was ideal for Princess lounge and Symphony dining room (mid ship). Due to airline mistake we didn't get luggage till 3rd day on the cruise and Princess customer service was very good to us. They provided us free express laundry and tuxedo rental for me. Ports Ketchikan - It was raining so not much to do. We took the multiple stop tour from the pier and it was OK, didn't see any wildlife or Salmons (probably not the season yet). Juneau - Took the Mendenhall Glacier and whale watching tour from the pier. It was good and we got to see whales few times. Skagway - Nice shopping town. Took the White Pass Yukon junction train ride. It was very scenic and nice but I am not sure it's worth the $138 they charge per person. Glacier Bay and College Fjord - Both are very scenic, wish it was sunny but we enjoyed it.

Great Alaska cruise done last minute
