I always wanted to see Alaska and I had three friends that wanted to see it with me so we decided we would check out princess cruises.embarkation was not hard the line was easy it went pretty smoothly and I was fairly impressed the problem was when I got on board the ship I realized how old it was. there was no Grand promenade no shops no Grand cafes no bars no restaurants just a plain interior with nothing special.I look around and realize that the carpet looked old and worn very well dated very well used the paint looks very sad wallpaper was so outdated I couldn't believe they'd even used it. there was none of the grandeur and the splendor in the pampered that you usually associate with Cruise lines it was just a plain old vanilla ship.I immediately went to my room and found out that it was in the same condition sort of old and tired and look like there's just been too many people in there for too long and it needs an update. the first thing we did of course was go to the food because that's the first thing you always do on a cruise ship and we went to daVinci's to have lunch. the food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special either and I thought all well dinner tonight will be spectacular as it always is.unfortunately when we got to dinner it wasn't anything special my girlfriend ordered Cornish game hen and when it arrived it actually was a little bit gray.I thought so myself how old is this it is this the type of food that we're going to have the entire cruise and sure enough I wasn't disappointed that was the food for the entire cruise.it wasn't really great and it wasn't really bad there was nothing spectacular about it it was just plain old food not at all what I was used to having on normal Cruise lines. it took a long time for the drinks to come in the food to arrive and it wasn't just our table it was all of the tables around us complaining about how long it took for service. the waitstaff seemed a bit tired and over it they would serve the food they would serve the drinks but they always seem to have that look in their eye like I wish this was over I wish I didn't have to do this anymore
